When the truckers go missing!!

It is at times like this i feel that we should have a government like that of China. I am talking about the fuel crisis caused by the strike by truckers and further fueled by the nationwide strike by oil PSU officers. In China, the government is so powerful that such strikes which effect the economy, industries and citizens of the country in general would have led to far stronger action by the government to curtail the problem.

Ofcourse, the Indian government is planning to use ESMA to do damage control. However, the prices of fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities have been going northwards after the shortage started due to truckers strike.

It is quite obvious that we cannot completely have a backup for all type of strikes and agitations that come up in the country. However, It is absolutly necessary that we have some mechanism or task-force that gets into immediate action in such situations to nip the problem right at the bud.

Right now we can only hope that the strike ends soon.......

Just before i close i would like to quote the words i heard from my friend Ravi Shankar ( I dont know where he heard it from!!)

"You can NOT get different results by doing the same thing again and again"

I strongly tend to believe in this statement....more often then not we try to do the same stuff and the problem keeps reoccuring time and again!!...

Mantriji - On why is there so much corruption!!

During one of my recent browsing spree i came across the following post. The post reminded me of a old joke which goes like this.....

During an interview, Mantriji was asked the reason for so much corruption and why ministers were gobbling up taxpayers hard earned money.....for which pat came the reply from Mantriji...

" Bhaiyaa, during elections we spend so much to buy the votes...we need to get reimbursed in some way ki nahi!!"

Though funny, it just shows that in a country like ours where more than 300 million people live below the poverty line, the idea of buying votes is definitly a no-brainer....
