1GB = ?

This is a very hilarious post....
My ask, what is the weight/file ratio? So for example, how many GB's = 6oz? I dread the day I need a dolly to commute to work with my Laptop.

Many thanks to my friend Divya for pointing this out.....First reactions after reading this Wow, best joke "i have heard in recent times..."

Btw, I still believe that "There are not stupid questions, Only answers are stupid"...but this one strongly tries to change my belief.

Hybrid Bulldozers are in!!

Heard of Hybrid bulldozers & earth moving equipment....Caterpillar's latest offering D7E is just that.
The D7E's greater fuel economy means lessened greenhouse gas emissions. It meets the EPA's Tier 3 standard regulating nitrogen oxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter for nonroad diesel equipment.
A hybrid ( However, not really like we know hybrid cars but better than having nothing :-)) dozer will ensure that we save fuel by running the diesel engines in their maximum efficiency range while the electric motors do the job of moving the earth. Also, there is lesser noise for the driver to put up with, which i am sure will make it a hit among the Dozer drivers.

Cool idea ain't it? Btw, just in case you did not know most of our diesel locomotives use the same method to run.

Google talk in Firefox

If you are a google talk fan, and also are not able to download the software and install it on your pc then this might interest you.

I did not like the google chat feature available in gmail because it somehow doesn't feel good like a real chat client. At the same time due to restrictions on the computer i had i was not allowed to install gtalk also. Here is something that I found out on the net to get the same effect as gtalk with firefox. Here are the steps to do this with your firefox installation.

  1. go to this link using firefox and bookmark it. http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client
  2. After bookmarking it , it will apprear under the Bookmarks menu in firefox.
  3. Right click on the bookmarked link and choose properties.
  4. Use the checkbox which says Load bookmark in sidebar.
  5. Close the window. Again go to bookmarks and click on the bookmark.
  6. You should be able to see the google talk like interface load in the side bar.....
One more reason to use firefox :-). This will work on Ubuntu as well.

At times i do search for software stuff also on the web for my pc. In such a spree i found this codec pack which might be of interest for vista users.

I have so far stayed away from VIsta and have been happy with Gstreamer plugin's in Ubuntu.
