Can Force India be the F1 Champs ?

" Force India yesterday won for the first time the coveted Formula One Racing, thanks to recession & frustration."
After BMW , Honda  and many others ( read Toyota, Renault) I would not be surprised to see this headline some day. However, I know that wherever Indians are involved there is a very good possibility even if the race consists of a single racer we might come second. Jokes apart, I think the lack of bigwigs like Honda, BMW and perhaps others will not only deprive F1 fans from the thrill of seeing their favorite teams contest but also would lead to a negative outlook towards the sport itself. I am still surprised to see the F1 management is still not doing much. Is this the end of the sport...only time can tell

What is our greatest achievement?

The article here talks about "What perhaps is Mankind's greatest achievement". There have been various answers to this one starting from the Wheel to fire and the best one being video-games. However, the last sentence in the article made a lot of sense to me
One hopeful businessman in Italy told us, perhaps prematurely: "Peace, I'd say peace. That would be the greatest achievement for all."
I will agree with this gentleman for that is one thing we are lacking in the world today. A world free from fear where righteousness and hardwork rule rather than a world full of corruption & backstabbing. After all it is happiness that we all yearn for at the end of the day. But, then we all know our brains have been developed in such a way that we always try to compete with one another. Healthy competition is good however, every competition turns ugly at some point of time. If you have any better things that you feel are man's best achievement do let me know.

Zardari & The SMS

Pakistan is known for making stupid remarks be it at National level or at International level. This has given stand up comedians enough material on their hands to keep their audiences happy. However, Pak doesn't want that to happen for long as reported here.....
Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik announced last week that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been tasked to trace SMS (or text messages) and e-mails that "slander the political leadership of the country" under the vague Cyber Crimes Act.

Two parts of article make we laugh out loud...
...the government would seek Interpol assistance in deporting foreign offenders.
Dude, WTF. Are you really serious that you are expecting countries to deport people who take your president's name. What more does he need to become more unpopular. And the best part is what your own folks are telling
"We now draft the text in such a way that Zardari's name is not mentioned and yet everyone who receives it knows the joke is about Zardari," laughed Bashir.
First understand what is the difference between SMS and MMS then ask your folks to track down the offenders.. Perhaps if Pak tries to use its resources to do something more fruitful rather than bombing neighbouring countries & Tracking SMSes then it might increase Mr. Zardari's popularity ( or notority!!)

Income Tax Filing - 09-10

Till last year, or so to say last assessment year (This is Assessment year  09-10. ), I would just fill in whatever i was asked to by the Consultant in our company and then by end of July he would provide me with an acknowledgement form which said that all my tax returns related issues where taken care of. The best part of the whole process was that it was free becuase of which i never ever bothered to delve deeper into it. This year i am in a different firm and these blokes dont have any arrangement with some tax consulatant to provide us with this assistance. The guy who does come to my office to help us with the tax filing procedure charges 300 bucks...I thought that this i will do it myself and started to look out for a DO-IT-YOURSELF tax filing guide. I did not have to look far because the Income-Tax website provides a very comprehensive list of faq's & Tutorials which make filing your tax a peice of cake. It took me about 5 minutes that ITR-I was the one that i needed to use. You will have to register on the website to file the returns. This is a bit tricky because the server undergoes routine maintainance & will not allow registration during those hours....(However, the error messages are totally non intutive and incorrect that it throws up during these hours!!).

You will have to download a tool to file your returns. The Excel based tool is quite well made and ensures that you do not make any silly mistakes. ( You will need to enable macro's to ensure that they work fine). The Engineer in me tried to look at the code which ofcourse was well protected by a password. There are two versions of the tool one is Excel based for those who have Microsoft Excel installed on their computers. The other version is Adobe's PDF form which can be edited.I did not try that one but i am sure even that will work the same way. Your Form-16 is the source for most of the information that is needed in the form. In case you have some other sources of income you will have to fill that information as well.

The tool output's an XML file which encapuslates all the information that has been entered by you in the Excel sheet. You will have to login into the website (to which by now you would have registered) and then you upload the XML file. You are almost done with filing your return. However, the acknowledgement of having filed the return (ITRV) will be emailed to you in the form of a zip file. On extraction the zip file provides you with a PDF file which is password protected. ( Password = PAN NUMBER+DDMMYYYY(date of birth)). Please note that you will have to enter the password in all lower case ( Took a while to figure this out!!). Take a printout of this and bless it with an autograph of yours & mail it to the address mentioned on the form. That should complete the process of filing for you. Here is a web demo from the website.

So guys & Gals buy yourself a good movie ticket or a good meal for the 300 bucks....and do the tax filing yourself

1GB = ?

This is a very hilarious post....
My ask, what is the weight/file ratio? So for example, how many GB's = 6oz? I dread the day I need a dolly to commute to work with my Laptop.

Many thanks to my friend Divya for pointing this out.....First reactions after reading this Wow, best joke "i have heard in recent times..."

Btw, I still believe that "There are not stupid questions, Only answers are stupid"...but this one strongly tries to change my belief.

Shed it !!

The WTF article i read today is here.
Mr Taylor told them that, by stripping off their clothes, staff could also strip away inhibitions and talk to each other more openly and honestly.

Well that is a cool idea to bring out your honest self. I further suggest that all prisoners & undertrials in jails should not be given any clothing...this would make them honest and they might reveal things that they normally would not have. More so, if even the police officers interrogating them follow the suit. Looks like these days there are a lot of things that are getting achieved by altering or removing in totality some piece of clothing. Wonder if this is implemented in India, then i am sure going to be one of the people who is going to shift nearer to such an office ;-).
And now we also know why our Indian Cricket team captians often remove their shirts....

Bandra-Worli Sea Link

I really dont give a damn about what they name the bridge. However, the funny remark is in the last paragraph here
Following a demand by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and agriculture minister Sharad Pawar, the bridge will be named after former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, chief minister Ashok Chavan had announced.

Well I wonder if Mr. Sharad Pawar thinks that he built the brigde with his pocket money which gives him the supreme right to demand something? It is the public money that was used to build the bridge....Why not name it after someone who really symbolizes Mumbai or Maharastra in general.
Ok i will stop...I dont have the right to bore you now...
