The Slumdog Millionaire

"Wow!! what a movie that was..." is all i could say after watching this movie by name "The Slumdog Millionaire".

It really deserved the four golden globe awards that it won. From the start till the very end the movie provides you with great content and a very true picture of India that lives in Mumbai.

The movie though has got more limelight for being a story about a slumdog who makes it big in the TV programme "Who wants to be a Millionaire", what it truely portrays is the life of a slum dweller in Mumbai. It shows us the true face of our society which is definitly not as rosy a image as we would have liked it to be.

Jamal Malik, the protagonist is accused of cheating when he makes it till the last question ( worth  20 million). The movie starts with the Jamal in a police station being questioned in our own Indian style. No, I am not going to tell you the rest of the story because this definitly isn't a movie review.

The movie highlights a lot of things. The love for Amitabh Bacchan, the cruel nexus of goons who make beggers out of orphans, the sad state of affairs in our society when it comes to communal riots and finally love that can make a man go to any extent.

Yeah, if you listen to the questions it does add to your GK also!!....

The work by the child artists Ismail, Ayush and Rubaina is also extremly commendable.

The background music from A R Rehman at crucial times in the movie creates the right environment for the viewer to feel the scene being enacted......

All in all it is a must watch movie......
